This week was wonderfully filled with all kinds of dressing up. Sunday started with a Bayside tradition for the kids: Trunk or Treat 2009! The addition of the kidstuf team this year was awesome, Caleb really enjoyed the music and so did I! And the crew members that braved passing out candy to the masses even got recognized for their creative efforts! Great job, Rachel, Liv, and Rachel plus whoever else helped with the build! Although I would like to give an award to our friend James who turned a lot of heads because he looked so much like our worship pastor that he even fooled our senior pastor… Awesome! What a great time we all had!
Then it was off to San Francisco for a couple of days to enjoy the city and see Wicked! Roo, Jen and I had a fabulous dinner atop my favorite MACY’S at the Cheesecake Factory with incredible views of Union Square. After which we headed to the Orpheum to see Wicked, a fun musical telling all about what happens before Dorothy came to Oz, the story of Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend you do! After a quick trip to Pier 39 the next morning we headed home.. with a slight bump along the way. Everyone is okay, sore but ok! We got rear-ended on one of the bay bridge detours on our way home. It made for a very long trip home, but at least we are ok :)!
So then it was time for a little low key Halloween fun! We had a great time going through the corn maze at Dave’s Pumpkins Patch in West Sac. We had a pretty good turnout of trick or treaters at Fort Bradley. We even got called the ‘cool house’ and had repeat trick or treaters… that’s impressive! But add friends, pizza, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The Proposal and some delicious brownies and I call that a perfect Halloween! And a great end to a week of dressing up!
